How tall is Queen Elizabeth II?

I’ve recently seen pictures of Barack and Michelle Obama visiting her, they are both a lot taller … I wasn’t aware Elizabeth is such a short and slight lady.

Several sites I’ve googled say she is 5′ 4″.

In the book of days I’m currently reading, by David Hilliam, it says that on 24 February 1945, Princess Elizabeth joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service as “No. 230873 Second Subaltern Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. Age: 18. Eyes: blue. Hair: brown. Height: 5′ 3″”.

Allowing for some shrinkage that comes with age, she probably could be about 5′ 2″ now.
